After a winter of unseasonable temps, deep freeze grips Westchester
After being spoiled by unseasonably high temperatures, Westchester residents finally got a real taste of winter Friday.
Forecasters say the temperature will barely get out of the teens, and with the wind chill it will feel like it is below zero degrees. Experts advise if residents are going to venture outside to wear several light layers to help stay warm. People should also keep their head covered since 30 to 40 percent of body heat is lost from the head. The very young and very old are most susceptible to cold-related emergencies, so it is a good idea to check up on them during the extreme cold.
