Actor's performance causes commotion in Newburgh
An actor's convincing performance caused quite a commotion off Route 9 in Newburgh Monday.
Newburgh police responded to a call from a concerned resident working inside a building on Robinson Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Police say the person heard someone else in the building saying, "I have a gun, and nobody will leave the building alive."
That prompted police and SWAT teams to jump into action -- only to discover that the words were coming from an actor working on a voiceover for a film at Phanatiks Entertainment.
Police Chief Daniel Cameron says officers arrived on the scene in seconds. He says the SWAT team was activated and was able to determine everyone was safe.
The actor and the production company will not face any criminal charges.
