Police found the body of 39-year-old Andrew Gardner earlier this week at the Butler Sanctuary after his father reported him missing. Gardner was a father of three and worked for a prominent law firm in Manhattan. He was arrested in August for allegedly raping a 26-year-old woman in an Atlanta, Georgia hotel room. Gardner had been released on $250,000 bail after being charged with rape and aggravated sodomy. The case against him was pending in a Georgia Superior Court.
Police say Gardner's body had no visible wounds and they don't suspect foul play. They say they are looking into whether Gardner committed suicide. The medical examiner?s office is running toxicology tests on the body.
