Accused boozing mom from Pelham faces judge
A Pelham mother accused of driving drunk with her 8-year-old son in the car went before a judge Monday. Police say Meghan Kearney was driving down East Lincoln Avenue in Mount Vernon when she crashed into two parked cars and came to a stop in a neighbor's yard. Police say they smelled alcohol on her breath. The 27-year-old single mom refused to take a field sobriety test. Her lawyers are fighting the charges. Since the March 16 arrest, Kearney is only allowed to see her son when his grandmother is present. She has also lost driving privileges, and her job. Kearney says she won't stop fighting the charges until she has full custody of her son.
