In the race for the county's 9th District seat, the challenger hoping to join the Board of Legislators has pinpointed taxes as her priority.

Susan Konig, a village trustee from Croton, is challenging incumbent Bill Burton in a district that covers Croton, Cortlandt, Briarcliff and Ossining. She says taxes in Westchester are onerous and she can help bring them down.

"All budgets can be cut," she says. "All mothers know that and I think I can do that on a county level."
