A 90-year-old volunteer in Orange County has been "Citizen of the Month."

Esther McGowen, who's lived in Cornwall since 1975, was given the award by County Executive Steve Neuhaus.

McGowen has been volunteering for decades, since moving to the county, and despite her age, still donates her time to help Meals on Wheels, her local church, and several programs for kids.

McGowen was nominated by a county employee familiar with her volunteerism and chosen out of a half dozen candidates.
