An 8-year-old boy is being honored after donating $7,000 to help a New City firefighter.
Cian Murrihy is now an honorary Clarkstown police officer for donating his communion money.
The money is meant to help 19-year-old firefighter Will McCue who has been struggling with complications from the flu. McCue lost both hands, a foot and his right leg due to complications from septic shock.
Murrihy first learned of McCue's story during a school assembly at St Margaret's in Pearl River.
McCue has recently been released from the hospital. He is now at a rehabilitation center in West Haverstraw.
Murrihy will also get a tour of the New City Fire Department before heading over to the County Fire Training Center to get the opportunity to spray hoses and put out a fire.
