Six construction workers are back safe and sound on the ground after a daring scaffolding rescue at a building Tuesday.
"A little bit shaken, but good thing I have a good heart," said rescued worker Andy Rose.
Fire and police personnel responded to a 911 call around 2:15 p.m. in the 300-block of Marconi Street at the Hutchinson Metro Center complex, where the six workers were trapped on two scaffolds at approximately 30 and 10 stories above the ground. The workers said power went out to the building and scaffolding, leaving them stranded in mid-air.
Using cherry-picker trucks, responders rescued the men within 30 minutes. The grateful construction workers clapped and cheered for firefighters and work resumed at the construction site once the scene was cleared.
The rescued men will also be back on the job tomorrow, and they said they plan to attend church soon to thank God for helping get them down safely.
