Here are some of the events happening today in the Hudson Valley that you should be aware of:  
  1. Flags are being flown at half-staff today in honor of Westchester residents who died from COVID-19, according to County Executive George Latimer.
  2. An interfaith prayer service will also be held at 11 a.m. followed by a county-wide moment of silence at noon.
  3. Also at noon today, essential workers in Mount Vernon will occupy the steps of city hall calling for fair treatment and better pay.
  4. In politics, Rep. Mondaire Jones (D-17) will deliver remarks at 1 p.m. today on Capitol Hill. He'll join Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats at a press event on Capitol Hill, promoting the For The People Act. The bill is aimed at increasing voting and election security.
