An undercover operation has landed four men in trouble for allegedly selling alcohol to minors.
The North Castle Police Department and Greenburgh Drug and Alcohol Task Force joined forces for the operation. They sent underage people into 11 stores.
According to officials, two 17-year-old girls were able to buy beer without identification at a Valero in North White Plains Friday. Police said they later found out the employee, 26-year-old Evrold Williams, had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for disorderly conduct.
Employee Carmine Scala, 48, is also charged with selling liquor to one of the girls at the Wine Professionals store. The store has three signs posted saying clerks don't sell to minors.
A North Castle Deli employee was also arrested along with a customer after police said the customer purchased alcohol for the minors after the girls were unsuccessful.
The deli owner maintains the incident is the store's first problem in relation to selling to minors in its 27 years of operation.
The four men will appear in court next week.
