Three pedestrians ended up in the hospital Thursday after police say they were struck by an out-of-control driver at a Yonkers bus stop.
Police say the incident occurred on Central Avenue at around 4 p.m. when a teenage driver behind the wheel of a gold Mercedes SUV turned left off Crisfield Street.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene of the crash and rushed the victims, all in their early 20s, to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. Doctors at the hospital say none of the injuries, which include broken legs, shoulders and femurs, are life-threatening.
Some residents say the intersection of Central Avenue and Crisfield Street is notorious for accidents.
Police continue to investigate the accident, but so far no charges have been filed against the driver of the SUV.
