Students at Hendrick Hudson High School and Peekskill High School are coming to the aid of a slain student?s family.
Justin Woodward, who was killed last Thursday, transferred to Hendrick Hudson last year after attending Peekskill High. Students at both schools say they are doing whatever they can to help his family get through this difficult time. Over the past few days, students, teachers and staff members at Hendrick Hudson raised $6,000 to help the family pay for Woodward?s funeral.
A basketball game between both schools was also played to raise money for Woodward?s family. At the game, both teams presented Woodward?s mother with an autographed basketball as a memorial to her son.
Woodward, 17, was stabbed to death in an apartment at Bohlmann Towers in Peekskill. His 16-year-old girlfriend, Latonya Fisher, is charged with manslaughter in his death.
