Officials say two firefighters suffered minor injuries when a vacant apartment building caught fire early Friday morning.

The fire is said to have begun in the basement of 424 Main St. around 6 a.m.

The flames spread to the first floor before they could be contained, and smoke damage was reported throughout the rest of the building.

The injured firefighters are expected to recover.

There is no word yet on a cause of the incident.
