Officials are trying to figure out what sparked a two-alarm fire that ripped through a Bronx church.

It started at around 4:30 a.m. at the New Testament Temple, located on Seymour Avenue.

The flames erupted in a smaller building that houses offices and church services for kids. A pastor tells News 12 that the fire may have started in an electrical closet on the first floor.

Firefighters were able to put it out within an hour, but the church suffered both fire and water damage.

The pastor says while there is damage inside the church, it is not a total loss. He says they have insurance and will rebuild. He adds that children's services will be moved, and the church will go on as usual.
