A Peekskill man was shot in the leg and four others were injured when a bar brawl got out of hand early Saturday morning, police say.

The incident happened inside Popeye?s bar on Route 6 in Cortlandt at around 2:30 a.m. Witnesses say the brawl started with a fight between two women and later escalated, spilling outside the establishment.

The 29-year-old man who was shot has been treated and released from the hospital. The four other people hurt during the altercation were taken to area hospitals and are expected to recover.

State police will be looking at surveillance video from inside and outside the bar to identify the gunman. So far, no arrests have been made in the case. Anyone with information about the brawl is asked to call state police at 914-737-7171.
