Gunfire rang out in the city of Newburgh over the weekend, resulting in at least one person being sent to the hospital.
The incident occurred around noon Sunday at the intersection of South and Liberty streets. Authorities recovered approximately a dozen shell casings at the scene. Police confirmed that one individual sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Residents in the area expressed shock and concern over the violence, emphasizing the troubling escalation in their neighborhood and the risks posed to young lives.
Additionally, law enforcement discovered shell casings outside a nearby laundromat, along with a bullet hole in the building. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported in connection with the incident.
