Final weekend of summer wraps up with sunny skies; tracking midweek storms for LI

The final weekend of summer will wrap up with sunny skies and warm weather.
There can be some rough surf from Tropical Storm Odette.
A slight chance for an isolated shower or thunderstorm remains for the overnight hours. Most of the area will stay dry.
ALERTS: Post Tropical Storm Odette continues to move north and east, safely out to sea, although a rip current risk remains high for the South Shore.
NEXT: High pressure builds in overnight making for a nice stretch of pleasant and dry weather. Tracking wet weather for Wednesday PM into Thursday. Rounds of moderate to heavy rain are possible. Crisp and cooler temperatures move in for the end of the week into the first weekend of the 2021 autumn season.
