New York state has just one statewide measure on the ballot this November, and it's causing a lot of conversation.
Proposal Number One would extend equal protections to a number of classes of people not currently protected explicitly by the state's constitution, like sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation and gender identity.
Supporters claim it would enshrine the right to abortion in our state.
Opponents, however, worry that the language of the ballot measure is too vague, and could lead to consequences, and lawsuits down the road.
