Four people are in good condition and three remain in critical condition at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla after an apparent gas leak led to the explosion of a building that housed four apartments in Wappingers Falls. Officials say a certified contractor was replacing older natural gas lines in the area as part of a regular maintenance program when it happened.
The region has been providing hotel rooms and financial resources to help displaced residents.
It has also contributed $50,000 to the Wappingers Falls PBA in support of the ongoing service to the public.
