Veteran state trooper killed in Taconic motorcycle crash
Nigel Barnett was pronounced dead at the scene. He was a 19-year veteran of the state police.

New York State Police Sgt. Nigel Barnett, the station commander in Cortlandt, was killed in a motorcycle crash Tuesday morning on the Taconic Parkway. He was 49 years old.
State police say Barnett was traveling southbound on a 2025 Ducati motorcycle in the Town of Fishkill around 6:30 a.m.
They say he was ejected from the motorcycle after losing control and struck a guardrail.
Barnett was pronounced dead at the scene. He was a 19-year veteran of the state police.
