Positive COVID-19 cases continue to affect schools across the Hudson Valley.
In the New Rochelle School District, the high school, Daniel Webster Magnet School and Columbus Elementary are all remote today. Officials says they made the decision after they say COVID-related absences and quarantines have left those schools with inadequate staff.
In Putnam Valley, all schools, district-wide are remote today after officials say a bus driver tested positive for coronavirus. Contact tracing is now underway.
The Yonkers School District this morning is reporting several new cases including a staffer who tested positive at William Boyce Thompson. The school is now closed through Wednesday, Nov. 25. It will reopen after Thanksgiving recess, on Nov. 30 using a hybrid-learning model.
A staff member at Palisade Preparatory School and a staffer at Patricia A. DiChiaro School also tested positive for COVID-19. A student has testing positive at Paideia School 15. We're told all three of those schools have been sanitized and will remain open.
A Royal Coach bus driver is in quarantine. The driver tested positive after transporting Yonkers 'Track A' students. Yonkers students and a bus monitor who may have been exposed will be contacted by the Westchester Health Department and asked to quarantine.
