Unauthorized access to Mount Vernon police vehicle leads to arrests

Two people have been charged after they entered an unlocked Mount Vernon Police Department vehicle, according to police.

Jadiz N. Foster, 24, of Mount Vernon, and a 15-year-old boy were seen in a video posted to social media inside the police vehicle.

Neither individual had permission to enter the vehicle, police said.

Both were arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, a misdemeanor under New York State law.

Foster was also charged with endangering the welfare of a minor.

They were issued desk appearance tickets.

No damage was done to the vehicle and nothing was taken.
