A Torrington man was charged with sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor after being extradited back to Connecticut from New York.
Officials say Jose L. Ortiz attempted to board a flight to Colombia earlier this month and was charged as a fugitive.
He was brought back to Connecticut on Thursday and arraigned Friday.
Ortiz's bond has been set at $1 million.
