This week’s Road Trip Close to Home is not for the faint of
heart as News 12 takes a ride up to the Headless
Horseman Hayride and Haunted House in Ulster Park.
Your adventure begins with a slow drive through an
unearthly world with props and actors that are bound to keep you on the edge of
your seat. “This year is a drive-thru, we had to
pivot away from our hayride, and people are now
allowed to drive through in the comfort of their own cars,” says owner Michael
Jubie.
Then you’ll walk through four acres of conjuring corn mazes
and five haunted houses within the field. “And one of those is the Headless
Horseman’s tomb, you’ll have to make the journey
— 6 feet under…and if you make it out alive, you’ll have to make your way
through the rest of the corn maze,” warns Jubie.
But that’s not all, there are still two more haunted houses
that’ll put your reflexes to the test. “We have employees year-round. We make
animatronics, props, and we’re very, very on top of detail, it’s very
important,” says Jubie.
Just keep in mind, capacity is capped at just 25%, so you’ll
want to book your trip early.
