Manhattanville College resumed classes Monday, including the grand opening of its brand-new nursing school.

There are about 72 students in the new School of Nursing and Health Sciences program.

They will get hands-on experience with model hospital rooms, the newest technology and opportunities to get into hospitals quickly.

Nursing school dean Dr. Debra Simons believes her program will make sure her students can handle any challenge, particularly coronavirus.

"We are all taped up, we are socially distanced, our students are compliant. They're just so excited to get out there," she says.

The plan is to get students into some of the Hudson Valley's best hospitals within weeks. but there is a virtual option if the pandemic becomes too dangerous.
