Police: 6-year-old boy struck by minivan in Monsey

A child is in serious condition after being struck by a minivan in Monsey on Saturday.
The incident happened on Remsen Avenue at about 8 p.m.
The driver told News 12 he didn't see the 6-year-old in the road but felt something strange being dragged by his vehcile When he pulled over, he saw the boy laying in the road behind him and the child's father screaming "call an ambulance."
The child was rushed to Westchester Medical Center in serious condition.
The driver told News 12 that the child is one of his neighbors in Ramapo.
Police are continuing to investigate but at this time the driver has not been charged.
