A boy who was on board a boat that overturned Friday in the Haverstraw Bay has died.

Yosef Goldman, 8, died despite responders' efforts to administer aid. 

Police say the accident happened about 100 yards offshore. The boy had been pulled from the water. Responders performed CPR and rushed the boy to a hospital.

Police say a total of eight people - seven children and one adult - had been on board the boat. Responders at the scene found the victims clinging to the side of the boat. 

Investigators are trying to determine how the incident happened.
