Powerful winds batter Long Island following powerful storm; power outages possible

The powerful storm that brought rain and wind to Long Island on Wednesday is being followed by even stronger winds today.
News 12 meteorologists say there is a high wind warning through 6 p.m., and that winds will be 20 to 30 mph with wind gusts as powerful as 40 to 60 mph.
Power outages across the Island are likely.

There is a chance of a passing afternoon shower, and high temperatures will be in the high-50s.
The winds will die down Thursday night, to between 15 to 30 mph. Temperatures will feel in the lower-40s.
Friday will see sun and clouds with a breeze. Winds take a further hit, slowing down to 10 to 20 mph.
