Homestyle Desserts is celebrating 50 years of baking delicious treats for its customers.
Manager Laura Timmons says she makes sure the bakery keeps up with lifestyle trends -- with gluten-free and vegan treats.
Timmons' mother, Rosa Sanca, started the bakery by making cheesecakes and doughnuts at home. She later broadened her operation into a sugar-coated empire -- from a shop in Buchanan, to the present-day, ever-growing bakery in Peekskill that overlooks the Hudson River.
Sanca retired five years ago. Timmons and her brother, Jason Elias, have been running the family business ever since.
