Gov. Andrew Cuomo is calling on the Department of Homeland Security inspector general to investigate the treatment of immigrant families at the U.S. border.
Cuomo says President Donald Trump is using immigrant families as a negotiating tool to advance his own political agenda.
Nearly 2,000 children have been separated from their families at the U.S. border after Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced a new zero-tolerance policy on illegal immigration.
White House Advisor Kellyanne Conway said in an interview Sunday on “Face The Nation” that the Trump is not using the children to score legislative wins.
