Rain showers continue on Long Island overnight, with some gusty winds and colder temperatures by Friday morning.
Friday starts out dry, but showers return in the afternoon with a cold breeze. There is a slight chance for a few wet snowflakes to mix in by Friday evening, otherwise snow will be confined northwest of Long Island.
It will be a chilly start to the weekend, with less wind and sunshine expected by Sunday.
Next week starts with mild temperatures and sunshine before another storm could bring messy weather for Thanksgiving.

FRIDAY: Mostly cloudy and breezy with the chance for showers in the afternoon. Colder with highs near 48 degrees. West southwest wind 10 to 30 mph. Sunset: 4:29 p.m. Mostly cloudy with the chance for a few showers at night. Lows near 36 degrees.
SATURDAY: Chance for morning showers then partly sunny and windy. Highs near 50 degrees. Lows near 38 degrees.
