A day care in Clarkstown is officially shut down following a state Supreme Court order.

Officials said the Morah Chany Daycare on Maple Avenue was found earlier this year with nearly 70 children and 20 adults inside a building with a maximum occupancy of 33.

The ruling permanently bans the owners from operating a child care business and gives the town 24/7 access to inspect the site for the next year.

Officials said the owners still face fire, safety and building code violations, along with child endangerment charges.

The next court date is Nov. 18.
