Hundreds of Fairfield residents enjoyed one intense football rivalry Thursday that could not happen last year due to the pandemic - Fairfield Ward up against Fairfield Ludlowe. It's the Mustangs vs the Falcons, a long-lasting Thanksgiving Day tradition between Fairfield Warde and Fairfield Ludlowe High School football teams.
Walking onto the field, two teams were ready to face off as fans cheered on from both sides of Tetreau-Davis Field. It's something spectators and student athletes have waited months for, especially for a rivalry as big as this one.
From the cheer squad to the band, high energy was in Fairfield for a tradition worth waiting for.
