Some students at Sarah Lawrence College are using sweet treats to make a point about union wages at the school.
Some of the students believe that the workers who keep up the school's heat, air conditioning and plumbing aren't being paid enough money.
The students, who are selling the baked goods for $1, know that selling cookies and cupcakes won't raise enough dollars for the workers. However, they say they want to raise awareness.
"The students are taking matters into their own hands because we all know they're underpaid," says student Hank Broege.
The union workers say they earn about $23 an hour and sometimes work in unsafe conditions.
The annual price for Sarah Lawrence College students is about $65,000.
News 12 reached out to Sarah Lawrence College, but it wouldn't comment about the union workers' concerns because it is in the middle of contract negotiations.
