An annual tradition at West Point took a violent turn when several cadets were seriously injured during an annual pillow fight.
Officials say 30 cadets were injured after the nighttime pillow fight at West Point at the end of August. The pillow fight has been an annual tradition since 1897, where first-year cadets can blow off steam after seven weeks of intense training
As a result of this year's fight, 24 cadets suffered concussions. One cadet broke a bone, another suffered a dislocated shoulder and numerous cadets had split lips.
Many cadets took to social media showcasing their injuries through photos, with one tweeting, "This is what happens when you have a no-rules pillow fight at a school that trains people to kill."
In a published report, a West Point spokesman said that no one has been punished, and there are no plans to put an end to the yearly ritual.
