A rally calling for police reform was held Monday in Pomona.
The rally comes after a series of incidents in the past few years where police officers in the Hudson Valley were accused of brutality and racial profiling.
In 2011, White Plains officers fatally shot Kenneth Chamberlain. Police claim he provoked the attack, but Chamberlain's family claims he was the victim of police brutality. A grand jury later cleared the officers of any wrong doing. Earlier this year, four black parole officers claim they were stopped at gunpoint and racially profiled by Ramapo police, despite wearing their badges. The four officers filed a complaint against the Ramapo Police Department with the NAACP.
Members of the Westchester Coalition for Police Reform say they hope to talk to lawmakers in Rockland County about what they are doing to address police accountability.
