The clock is ticking for Hudson Valley homeowners hoping to cash in on solar savings.

A key federal incentive — worth up to $10,000 in tax credits — is set to expire at the end of the year, sending installers and residents into a last-minute scramble.

In Ossining, homeowner Gregory Young says everyday counts.

“We’re getting close to it… it’ll be December before long," he says.

Local installers, like Rivertown Solar in Dobbs Ferry, say it is already at full capacity, flooded with customers racing to get panels installed before the deadline.

The credit, which offsets 30% of installation costs, has made solar power affordable for thousands across Westchester. But once the sun sets on Dec. 31, that window of savings closes fast.
