Putnam County sheriff cites health in decision not to seek reelection

The Putnam County sheriff will not seek reelection this year due to health concerns, a department spokesman said.
Kevin McConville was elected in 2021. He previously spent 30 years with the MTA Police Department, where he rose to the rank of chief.
During his time with the MTA, he assisted in the department's response to the World Trade Center attacks in 2001.
