Prosecutor: Woman shot by police in Byram Township faces gun charges

Police have announced charges filed against a woman who was shot and injured by police in Sussex County earlier this week.

Rachel Noviskey is facing multiple charges in connection to the shooting incident on Jan. 13, including unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of hollow point bullets.

The Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office says officers encountered Noviskey in Byram Township near the intersection of Camp Wheeler and Camp Allamuchy roads. They say Noivskey was armed and was shot by an officer during the encounter.

Noviskey is in stable condition at the hospital.
