A special house is being built to coincide with the pope's visit, and to be a symbol of unity in Yonkers.
The construction came about when an anonymous donor challenged Habitat for Humanity to build a house and dedicate it to Pope Francis. The person asked people from all faith groups to volunteer.
Army Sgt. Michael Velazquez, who will live in the home with his family, led a group of Mount Saint Michael students from the Bronx.
"It's not only going to be the house of the Velazquez family, but it will be a home of Pope Francis. It's an anointed building. That's a blessing," he says.
The Pope Francis house will take about a year to build. About 300 volunteers have signed up to help out.
