Police: Naugatuck man stole over $1,000 worth of tools from Shelton home

A Naugatuck man is accused of stealing tools from a Shelton home Thursday, police say.

Police responded to 504 Huntington St. at 9:45 a.m. for a burglary that was in progress after the homeowner reported seeing a person steal tools via their Ring Camera.

Officers found Christopher Sanchez in Naugatuck later that day. He was wearing the same clothing and in the same vehicle seen in the burglary.

Authorities say the stolen items were valued at $1,070 and were recovered in plain view in the vehicle.

Sanchez was taken into custody and charged with burglary and larceny.

He was released on bond and is expect to appear in court at a later date.
