A man?s body was discovered in the backyard of a home in northern Westchester Tuesday, police say.
According to authorities, a resident of 103 Maple Ave. in Mount Kisco found the naked body of the victim lying under a tree early Tuesday morning. At this point, they say it is not clear whether the man had been murdered or whether he died of natural causes.
Chief Steven Ander, of the Mount Kisco Police Department, says the district attorney?s office, county and state police are working together to establish the circumstances of the man?s death.
Neighbors say the victim lived in an upstairs apartment of the house where he was discovered, and he was last seen alive Monday night. They say he was apparently an immigrant from Guatemala and appeared to be in his 30s or 40s.
Although police have not released the victim?s name yet, there are reports that he may be Emilio deJesus Bueso.
This is not the first time Hispanic men died in Mount Kisco under mysterious circumstances.
In 2007, Rene Perez passed away after being found injured on a road outside of town. A Mount Kisco police officer was acquitted of all charges in connection with Perez's death.
According to some accounts, the body of the man found in the backyard showed signs of beating, but police are neither confirming nor denying it.
Andar says he is waiting for the medical examiner to determine the cause of death before making any official statements regarding the ongoing investigation.
