People line up for COVID-19 vaccine at Nassau Community College amid omicron concerns
People lined up at Nassau Community College Saturday to get vaccinated against COVID-19 after Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that there are now eight active cases of the omicron variant in the state.

199ds agoPeople lined up at Nassau Community College Saturday to get vaccinated against COVID-19 after Gov. Kathy Hochul announced that there are now eight active cases of the omicron variant in the state.
The seven-day positivity rate on Long Island, according the state health department, is at 5.9%.
More than 500 people got their vaccine or booster shots at the college. Some say it was especially important with the new variant and the upcoming holidays.
Nassau Deputy Health Commissioner Dr. Andrew Knect says even those who are vaccinated should continue taking precautions.
The pop-up site will be back at Nassau Community College Sunday from 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Walk-ins will be accepted.
