Orange County's Department of Mental Health, in collaboration with the county sheriff's office, is conducting free naloxone training courses for the public.

Certified trainers will guide attendees on recognizing signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose and instruct on the proper administration of naloxone upon identification of an overdose situation.

Participants will receive a specified amount of naloxone to take home after completion of the course.

These sessions are being offered in response to an observed increase in opioid-related deaths over the past decade in Orange County. The first training course is scheduled for tomorrow night. Interested individuals can sign up online or through the provided QR code.
