NYC Haitian leaders denounce mass deportations in Texas

Haitian leaders around the city are calling for the Biden administration to halt deportations of migrants at the Texas border.
State Assembly member Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn and City Council members Farah Louis and Matthieu Eugene are denouncing the mass deportations.
Rep. Yvette Clarke and others are calling for due process for the migrants and a humanitarian moratorium on the deportations. They are also calling for an investigation into the actions of U.S. Customs and Border Patrol.
Others like Rep. Nicole Malliotakis say border agents need to have the proper resources to do their job, and that order needs to be enforced.
News 12 is told that a group of lawmakers is planning on making a trip down to Del Rio, Texas, to see the situation for themselves and to try to speak with some of the migrants.
