Gov. Andrew Cuomo has beefed up security across the state after several suspicious packages and pipe bombs targeted Democratic politicians.
The threats spread up and down the East Coast, including one found in the mail room of CNN's New York City office in Columbus Circle.  Five other explosives were sent to high-profile political figures, but thankfully none went off.
"Today the NYPD and all of our law enforcement partners responded to reports of a suspicious package,” said Police Commissioner James O’Neill. "Responding officers identified a device that appeared to be a live explosive device."
NYPD, FDNY and Joint Terrorism Task Force soldiers are stationed at every major location across New York City.

Commuters heading in and out of Manhattan say they're comfortable with the added protection.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo wrote, “Public safety is our number one priority, and we are taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety and security of New Yorkers..."

During a security news conference Wednesday, Cuomo, who has a home in Mt. Kisco, mentioned there was suspicious package at his office in Manhattan. After an investigation, it turned out that the package was not a bomb.
The message from law enforcement remains that if you see something, say something - but don't let it stop you from going about your business.
