New York lawmaker calls for investigation into migrant contractor DocGo
A New York state lawmaker is requesting an Assembly investigation into the $432 million no-bid emergency contract awarded to migrant services provider DocGo, already facing scrutiny over abuse allegations.

A contractor hired to provide services to migrants arriving in New York City and the Hudson Valley could face a new investigation by the state Assembly.
Assemblyman Matt Slater sent a letter to the Assembly Oversight Committee chair on Tuesday calling for a probe into the $432 million no-bid emergency contract awarded to DocGo.
State Attorney General Letitia James is already investigating allegations the company has mistreated and threatened migrants in its care.
Slater says his committee needs to examine how DocGo obtained the contract.
“We think that it's our fiduciary responsibility on behalf of all the taxpayers of New York to make sure that we have every 'i' dotted, every 't' crossed, and we understand exactly what DocGo was supposed to be doing,” Slater said.
A DocGo spokesperson said the company has always cooperated transparently and looks forward to providing information expeditiously.
