Religious leaders, elected officials and law enforcement in New Rochelle came together Monday in an effort to put an end to gun violence.
The group, called Westchester United, is requesting information from gun manufacturers and demanding they use new technology to prevent guns from landing in the wrong hands.
"They have the power to make guns safer," says the Rev. Maryann Watkins.
Watkins' 23-year-old nephew, Rodney Saunders, was gunned down on a Yonkers street in May.
The group says that 30,000 Americans will die this year from gun violence if no one takes a stand.
