New Jersey state parks are free this weekend and all summer. Here’s what you need to know.

New Jersey state parks are free this weekend and all summer, so if you want to go to the beach for free, you won't have to travel all the way to Atlantic City or Wildwood.
Island Beach State Park will be completely free all summer, as well as the more than 50 of the rest of the state parks, forests, and recreation areas.
Those who already purchased a state park pass for this year will receive a refund. Gov. Phil Murphy and DEP Commissioner Shawn LaTourette say the fee waivers are in place to promote tourism across the state.
The free access to state parks is available for everyone, even out of state visitors.
Lifeguards will go on duty starting Saturday at 10 a.m. at Island Beach State Park. It’s the only state park with ocean front beaches and swimming.
If you're still looking for a summer job, state parks are looking for lifeguards starting at $18.50 an hour at Island Beach State Park.
