Musicians audition to be a part of ‘PATH Performs’ program this summer
The musicians are vying for a chance to perform weekdays at various PATH stations this summer.

PATH train riders in Hudson County are in for a musical treat this summer. Soon those traveling during peak hours will get to enjoy live music played by local artists as a part of “PATH Performs.”
This week more than 100 artists are showing off their skills in front of judges who will select the best ones to serenade riders while waiting for PATH trains at Harrison Station, Journal Square, Exchange Place and Hoboken Station.
"It really enriches the experience. It gives our customers a look at what the community has to offer," said Phil Silvester with PATH Passenger Services.
“Path Performs” is a summer series that entertains riders and offers a platform for artists looking to get their name out there.
"I just recently transitioned into becoming a DJ, " said Afrobeats DJ, Lolahstic. "So this is a new playing field for me but it's been very fruitful, very exciting."
Singer and speech pathologist, Adrienne Murphy, told News 12, "I had the time, and I always wanted to pursue my music. It's always been a passion of mine."
For other artists, it's an opportunity to do what they love.
"I love to sing. It’s something that brings me joy and if I could do something that makes me happy and possibly entertain other people, why not do it?” said teacher and singer, Alice Mitiz.
"This is a great opportunity to meet new people, maybe to perform on the PATH, to make new friends in the music scene," said singer and guitarist, Naji Sol.
Judges say they'll book all the artists they can. Riders can look forward to seeing the ones who made it starting in early June weekdays during peak travel hours until mid-September.
